ILuvDLHx3 0 Posted July 1, 2009 My name is Krystal and I am currently in the insurance program for lap band. There are so many hoops to jump through but if they pay for it, I'll do whatever! I have to lose 10%. I have done everything else, meetings, nutritionists, psychologist, life coach counseling, etc etc. The final thing holding me back is losing the 10%. I think if I could do that on my own, I wouldn't need the surgery . Well, I just wanted to say hi and let you all know that I am browsing around all the posts. LOL. Devana 0 Posted July 4, 2009 Hi Krystal, congratulations on your decision. I hope you get your approval soon. I think that 10% business it to try and get you into a new lifestyle so you're up and running with it by the time you're banded. You might want to bite the bullet and go on one of the liquid pre banding diets or Atkins or something like that. That would speed the process. All the best! ILuvDLHx3 0 Posted July 6, 2009 Hi, thanks for responding. Yes, I am trying Atkins, see a nutritionist every 2 weeks and a lifestyle coach every 2 weeks.....what insurance won't do to make it hard enough to lose weight. I have lost 6 lbs the last 4 weeks. I can't lose "too" fast, insurance will only let me lose 5lbs per month or they will add food. They don't want any crash diets. I know I need to learn portions and a new way of eating before the surgery but my patients are about as long as my 5 yr olds! I want it now!............
Devana 0 Posted July 8, 2009 Wow, they really have you controlled. I'd be going nuts. It's always been easier for me to crash diet for awhile. The good thing is, at least you'll start getting into good band habits. I would suggest to chew like you have the band. That definitely slows eating!!
