What does it mean to reach your "sweet spot"?

Recommended Posts

Please advise as to what it means to reach your sweet spot? How do you know when you have reached it?

It means that you're finally at a fill place that allows you to stay full for at least 3 hours and to lose weight at a good rate. You will know when you are at your spot if you are losing consitently and you are staying full longer and faster! :) You'll know when you're there...

It also means you are losing steadily, but able to eat solid Protein without pain or PB'ing when eating properly.

I'm not banded yet (surgery 7/21) but my doctor explained that he gives his patients the "sweet spot" by making them drink Water while he fills you. When you come to the point that the water stops going down, they remove enough of the fill so that the water can flow freely. Then you are at a point where liquids flow freely, but solids do not.

My doctor makes me drink Water after each fill to make sure I am not too tight. I have a 10 cc band with 6 cc now. Everyone gets to their sweet spot different. I have reached my sweet spot with my last fill. Nothing being taken out to make it that way. I am pretty new at this, but that just does not sound right to me. Anyone with more experence that can reply?

Wow I've never heard of them doing it like that? They just make me drink some water after the fill to make sure that I'm not too full...hmm

My Dr. has me stand after the needle is in and I chug Water as he fills. I let him know when it backs up. Worked fine the first time, but the second time I thought it was fine when I left. It seemed ok the rest of the day, just a bit slow going down (liquids gurgling). The next morning I had to get some removed as I could not get water down. So, it doesn't always work perfectly. However, I have only had 2 fills so perhaps there is something to it that works well!!

My surgeons office makes me do a crunch and they pull out the Fluid in the band and then pushes it back in with some extra. Then they have me drink some Water to make sure that I can swallow it down okay.

Mine does the same, I lay down, he numbs the area and then takes everything out so he can see if I have a leak (I think that is why), then he puts it back with more. I then sit up and he gives me Water to make sure I can drink it. Out the door I go. It is funny how everyone is just a little different.

Yes, they take all the Fluid out to verify how much is in your band.

I have a 10cc band, had have 5 fills and am 6ccs. I am at my sweet spot. I can go 5 or even 6 hours sometimes without getting hungry. And, I'm losing about 2 pounds per week.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
