HI all, Let me get right off to the point. I was banded on 10/27/2008 I am down 116 lbs as of 06/29/2009. My last fill was in March I have a 15cc band and I am at 6.5cc right now. I have had great restriction but was having issues on learing how to eat right, it was either to Fast or at times a bit to much. Well I was getting use to PBing at least everyday (big sigh) Well I finally made the transition a few days ago to where now I never eat more then a cup of food and I pick at it and eat s l o w  Well now I am freaking out because I have no indication of restriction because I am not pbing but I can say I do not get hungry for a long time and the small amounts I am eating do satisfy me. Now there is another thing I have som pain on my side and in my belly area but not no where up towards my upper chest. I have been having alot of gas the last couple of days and have been told by many that could most deffinetly be that issue with the side and tummy pain. I dont know what to do. I am afraid I have done something wrong. How would I know if I am ok. What does a slip feel like if I have one. Am I over reacting. help direct me. I called my doc and nurse says I am fine. What do I do help!!!:cursing:

It sounds like your doctor feels nothing is wrong. So for now I would keep an eye on the symptoms, but if you're really not comfortable with your doctor's response I would make an appointment.

The increased gas could be from eating slowly, you may be swallowing more air than you were before - or it could just be your body's way of reacting to the different eating style.

My sister-in-law's band slipped and her symptoms were acid refux at night and inabilty to eat withoujt getting nauseous - some days were good and some weren't. But she truly didn't fell well prior to her new band placement.

Lastly, I would keep an eye on the stomach and side pain. If it continues keep track of when it happens, if you've just eaten, etc. If your doc felt it was gallbladder related I'm sure they would have said something.

It sounds as if you are doing great with your band and are at your sweet spot for now. Being satisifed from meal to meal, continued weight loss, and no PBing episodes is my idea of perfect restriction!!!

Oh Thank you so much:lol: I'm only half way there. I so hope you are right. Called my doc's office a bit ago and they assured me of what symptoms would be if it was bad....like a slip> constant Vomiting (not PBing) nausiated, pain (bad pain) they told me its just a new feeling so i am worried. what do you all think

It is a new feeling. I didn't quite know that I had restriction at first either, that is, when I had restriction. But you are getting full on less food and staying full longer. THAT is what it's all about. You go girl !! Pam

What type band do you have if you don't mind? Just curious (monkeys are, you know! LOL) since I haven't until your post even heard of a band that holds 15 cc's...

great loss, by the way!

I don't know what kind of band that I have. I only know that it holds 10 cc's and I now have 2.5 cc's in it. It isn't easy because there is not a lot of restriction. But there is enough so I just have to really try to stick to the bandster rules. Have a happy fourth!

If you're satisfied and not getting hungry, then your restriction is right. You shouldnt be looking for a hard stop like a pb! Its tiresome, but we just have to stop when we've had enough, not when we're full.

116lb in that time, you're incredible!!! But rely on yourself, not the hard stop of actually vomiting to do it or you do run the risk of doing damage.

i'd keep an eye on the discomfort. If its real pain, definitely follow up on it.

Jachut, you are so right. Looking for a hard stop with PBing isn't a healthy way to permanent weight loss. I tried it for a short while and I felt sick all the time. I am now trying to rely on myself. It isn't easy. It's like the alcoholics say...One Day At A Time.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
