I am so ready to get to my "sweet spot"! I hear once you're here you really start to feel the restriction and lose the weight. Is this true?

I have 9cc's (or is it 8cc's?! I can't remember! eek) in a 14cc band so far. I feel the restriction SOMETIMES if I eat too quickly or take too big of a bite. I'm eager to get to that point where I really feel it... :tongue2:

When did you find your Sweet Spot? How long after your surgery?

I'm still working on hitting my sweet spot. I'm having a fill tommorow, hopefully it will do the trick. Good luck to you!

YOu will definitely know when you have it. I was lucky and got to mine on my second fill (5 cc) in a 10 cc band. I am still working on learning to eat very slow and take tiny bites. I was on a role loosing but have slowed down. I am wondering if it was because I was not eating enough calories. This weekend included quite a bit more calories, but I am too scared to get on the scale, so I will wait until Friday to see if I maintained, gained, or lost...

Good Luck!

I was banded this past February and I go for my third fill Thursday. I have lost 34 pounds. I have had some restriction, but weight loss is less than 2 pounds a week on average. I am hoping that this next fill is it for me...I am thinking it may be the sweet spot. If I can maintain a 2 pound weekly loss, I'll be thrilled.

wow! Great job JulsJourney. I'm hoping for 2 pounds a week. My weight loss has slowed down a bit, but I just signed up for the gym again, so hopefully that'll bump it up some!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
