No, but you have my curiosity up.

I went for my 3rd fill on Friday 6/26, and they said that my port has flipped 180 degrees. Therefore they have to go in and revise the port location. I asked the Doctor how this happened and he stated that sometimes throughout the weightloss the port can move or flip and that it was nothing that I did to make it happen. I always worry when I am exercising, especially doing crunches and situps that I am hurting something, but everyone says its perfectly fine to do it. I was wondering how common this is and if I should be worried about it.

Ok, I have heard of that, but would have never thought to call it a revision. Being from a technical background, I have images of them replacing your port with a new revision 1.1 from 1.0 or something. Wow, was I way off base.

I'm in Germany and I have noticed that alot of the things/sayings they have sound strange to me. But I thought of it the same way you did...lol

Not yet, but looks like I'm going to have to. I was banded on May 18th and went in today for my first fill. The doc couldn't do the fill because she said my port is flipped. I was self pay and had my surgery done in Mexico. I'm going to call around and see how much port revision will cost here and I have also left a message with my surgeon's office for return call so I can ask how much it will cost to have him do it. I'm not opposed to returning to Mexico if I have to, but would prefer to have it done closer to home.

I'm wondering if it's possible for my medical insurance to cover the revision, but I can't figure out how to ask about it without identifying myself. If they won't cover it, I can understand that; but I fear that just the flag saying 'this chick got weight loss surgery in Mexico' will cause me problems with my medical coverage down the road. Know what I mean?

There is someone on here that had a port revision and went from a standard port to a low profile port. Maybe if she is still around she can chime in. I do know that she was very happy she had it done and if I remember correctly it was no bid deal.

Maybe some of the others that have been here for a while remember her and can point you in her direction.

I think I might have to have this done. I am actually having pains on the side where my port is and it feels funny. Like it is not in the correct position. I cam going into the Dr office today to see what he has to say, but I am almost positive that this is the problem. I will keep you posted as to what happens an his recommendations.

I had my surgery last August and by December the port had flipped and I wasnt able to get a fill. My doctor scheduled me for sugery the next day which was very minor and quick. Fills have been easy since and no other problems

Did you have any pain associated with the port being flipped? I have not eaten or dran anything this morning, hope that when I go in, they can just get it over with.

I had no idea anything was amiss before I went in for my fill. No pain near the port, no burning, pulling, or weird sensations. So, I was taken completely by surprise to find that it was flipped. :tongue2:

Cheir,

I am having pains near the port area and it feels different. I was not able to feel my port unless I laid down and slightly lifted my head up, now I can feel it standing up and I feel like a knot or something. It just does not feel the same and it is sore.

I am going to have my port and tubing replaced if my 5th fill doesn't hold like the rest of the ones I have. I should know in a week. I go from being super tight to eating anything and everything.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
