mcb2009 0 Posted July 11, 2009 Hi gang, Well, its day 5 post-op for me and I'm now starting to feel almost normal again. :-) For the past nights I have slept quite well on both sides, although my left side is probably a bit more comfortable. Today I started the full liquid diet which means I can have real Soup...yippee...I'm off the broths. For lunch today I'm going to have cream of chicken soup...who knew I could get so excited over cream of chicken Soup. Oh...am I'm down 5 lbs since Monday morning...not bad since I was up 5 lbs the day after surgery because of all of the Fluid during the surgery. I'm now officially down 20 lbs and all of this in less than one month. So, I'm off to a good start and am looking forward to getting back to work next week. How is everyone else doing this fine Saturday morning? Actually...not to fine in Ontario...we have a rip roaring thunder storm coming in...I love these big storms! Take it easy all... Cheers, Mary
Juniper 0 Posted July 11, 2009 Good morning, Mary! Okay, I'm jealous about your thunderstorms. It's another sweltering hot day here in Texas, and it's not even 10 am yet! I'm feeling pretty good these days, too. I slept in my bed again last night, and it was pretty comfortable, so I'm happy about that. I've been a little more emotional than usual since the surgery, but I'm learning to deal with it. Last night I found myself scrounging around the kitchen looking for SOMETHING to eat that wasn't Soup, Jello, pudding, or Protein shakes. hehe. I finally settled on some instant mashed potatoes (really watered down, since I'm still only at "cream of wheat" stage) but when I started eating them, the taste wasn't nearly as satisfying as I expected it to be!! It was like... what's that?? My friend food isn't as much fun as I remember him being?? I ended up eating only a few bites, and being done. Of course, not to say it would have been that way with something I really love, like mac and cheese, but it was nice to feel some CONTROL...
