A little worried I guess......

Recommended Posts

I am 9 days post op now....I am on week 2 of my liquidy diet....I am allowed to eat things like sherbert, yogurt, pudding, and creamy Soups. I am a little worried because I've been hearing people say that even though they don't get a restricted feeling they are getting full and I am not! My first fill is July 21st which is exactly 4 weeks post op. Do you think I'll notice a difference then? I'm so terrified that I was just cut open and expected to feel hugely different and I don't feel different at all! I need some words of encouragement!

I'm with you. I'm one week post op and starving...... sometimes, I get a full feeling...but not very often. I'm terrified I wasted 15K. Hopefully it will be better after we get our fills....

I had my surgery May 15th and I dont get filled till this week. You have nothing in the band restricting you right now so you are gonna get fuller faster. However after the liquid diet you should be feeling a lil fuller faster because your body isnt used to consuming that much food anymore.

Hi, I'm just wondering if maybe your band isn't tight enough. Have you talked with your surgeon about this. In a class my husband and I both took so I could learn some of the things he can eat in stages is that every so often he needs to go in and have the lap band adjusted. This should be one of the first things you do to find out why your not getting full

I hope this helped.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
