bookworm 0 Posted June 29, 2009 Hi my name is Maria and I’m waiting for insurance approval. I’m 5’2 and 250 pounds my BMI is 45.7 My tentative date is Aug 5Th, 2009. My DR is Boorse and I’m from Pennsylvania. I did a 3 month program and should (God willing all goes well) start my pre-op diet in late July. At my heaviest I weighed 315 and I’ve gotten as low as 200 just to put a lot of it back on. I went up to 280 back down to 240 back up to 280 back down to 250 sound familiar? Someone stop this ride I’m ready to get off! I am more than a little nervous about the whole thing and honestly right now it all seems a bit surreal. I really detest waiting and wondering. I am glad to be a part of this support group it helps make the waiting bearable.
rodriguezequal 3 Posted June 29, 2009 Way to go!!! Be proud for taking these steps! They're bigs ones . I am so excited for you and I hope that your journey to getting the band goes well! If you have any questions I'm always around Good luck and congrats again on taking the steps! I am close to your weight and what not. I was close to 300 (I'm 5'3'') right before my surgery I was at 253.6! It's worth it!
bookworm 0 Posted June 29, 2009 Holli, thank you for your kind reply. Have you had any complication's? I hear alot it seems about that. I'm kind of wondering how many bansters have been complication free.
rodriguezequal 3 Posted June 29, 2009 I haven't had any complications with the band. I have gained some weight back lately, but it was due to my own problems and had nothing to do with the band. I had gotten down to 192.4 and now I am back up to 207 :rolleyes2: it wasn't the fault of the band...it was just me. The only "problem" I had was when I went in for my first fill they had some trouble finding it and had to wiggle the needle around a little bit (doesn't really hurt, just felt weird) other than that things have been great!!! rodriguezequal 3 Posted June 29, 2009 The anesthsia stays with ya for a little while. I woke up fine from it, but was tired for the first couple of days, but I bounced back as it got all the way out of my system. I have had a few surgeries so I knew what to expect. It's not bad!
