I finally caught up from my missed day last week! I've got just 6 more miles to go (tomorrow's regular miles), and then I'll have achieved my goal!! Yeah! I'm ready for August--no more missing days though!

I finished yesterday....50.5 miles! Feels so good to meet a goal, it is the first i set for myself since my surgery on July 1st! I am so proud that I made it, especially because I didnt start the challenge until the 10th of July (when I was released by my dr to exercise)! SOOOO Looking forward to the August challenge!! Congratulations to all who made it to GOAL...and congrats to all who tried their hardest!

I just finished my 5 miles for the day and 85 for the month. A little shy of my goal, but ready for August challenge to start.

I am going to Fit Right Northwest store in the morning to find the perfect work out shoes. It seems like an interesting process they go through to fit you. I'm looking forward to it.

FITTING:

A complimentary video-taped gait analysis for every new customer! This process allows the sales associate to accurately determine the mechanics of the lower extremity focusing in on the heel contact, mid-stance and toe off phase of the gait cycle. By videotaping your walking or running stride, the sales associate can then play back the video so that the customer can see for themselves, how his or her feet function in a dynamic state rather than a static state!

Complete Measurement of heel-to-toe length, heel-to-ball of foot length and width of foot using the Brannock device - industry standard for 100 years

Subjective Evaluation of Foot - To determine foot volume, the presence of bunions, bunionettes, etc...

Shoe Test Runs - Allows customer to evaluate overall comfort and fit of selections outside the store and on our in-store treadmills.

Custom Fitting Techniques - Used to reduce foot elongation to less than 1/4 of an inch. This eliminates lost toenails, foot cramping, bruised balls of feet and any of the hundreds of avoidable problems related to improperly fit shoes.

This is my reward for a good attempt to meet the mileage challenge for July.

August challenge....here I come. :)

2911, Let;s just start a new thread for August. Also, I think I'll feel more goal-oriented if it's only for August rather than August--December. When August is over, we can just start a new thread for September and so on. This is going to be a challenging month for me as I work to mesh the summer me with the back-to-school me. But we can do it!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
