Yup. You're adding food with more substance to it. You'll lose it again. I gained a couple pounds, then it fell right back off.

thanks for posting this...I was wondering the same thing myself. I need to stop getting on my scale everyday.

Yes, I've heard this happens although, I must admit, I am still losing (have transitioned this week), albeit alot slower than on liquids.

I'm eating a fair amount of Protein though (ie lots of soft fish) - I don't know if that makes a difference but it might?

What you eat will definitely make a difference. It's rather easy to eat unhealthy mushy food rather than eating something healthy and high in Protein. Your food choices are super important.

Thanks Shay, I was wondering if the Protein would make a difference given I'm eating more calories on mushies. Look like it does.

I'm have mushy oats for Breakfast, followed by Protein and soft veggies for lunch and dinner. If I want a snack, I eat a piece of soft cheese. The protein is great for slow burning energy and it makes me feel uber-full.

I'm on the mushy stage too so I know how you're feeling. You most likely will not curb your hunger entirely, but I'm personally ok with that. I know i'll get a fill someday. In the mean time, I drink Water to try and curb the hunger. Protein will curb your appetite though.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
