I signed up about a year ago.. My Boy friend is actually the one that is banded.. But I have been there with him every step of the way...

Anyhow he started at about 275 and has gotten down to around 170.. The thing is that I am and have been worried about his eating habbits for a while..

One thing is that he only eats about once a day.. that drives me crazy, when he does it is not much at all! Most of the time I will catch him throwing up!

He says it is because he has a hard time getting it to go down.. I honestly think he has an eating disorder. I know that bandsters should avoid throwing up anyway so that the band does not turn.. I have asked him to go get it let out a little if he can't eat and he gets upset with me... Like I want him to gain weight or something?? I feel a little helpless about the whole situation. Just wondering if anyone else does the same thing...

Personally, I think your right. Even if your boyfriend ate very small portions or only once a day, he should not throw up every day. It's likely he is too tight or has already had a slip, which will eventually lead to band removal. If he loses the band, he'll gain his weight back more than likely. Just that fact alone, should get him to see a doctor or go back to his surgeon. Explaining it to him in this way might help change his mind, but you know him best.

He needs to check back in with his surgeon. Tell him if the surgeon says he's ok you'll get off his back...that you love him and want him around for a LONG time. :)

Because yes, he shouldn't be that tight, or it may be something simple like he eats too large a bite or doesn't chew well. He's done well...so praise him and try to make it more like a bargain than a threat (although you know him best!) Good luck!
