Rich for this poll is being able to buy and pay for anything you want for the rest of your life.

Poor is to have basically nothing but enough to eat and a place to live.

Funny! Well, if I were rich I could afford a personal trainer, a personal chef, and all the cosmetic surgery I wanted. So realistically I could become skinny in just a matter of time. However, if I were skinny but poor, a handsome prince could find me and sweep me away to his magical kingdom. Thus, I would in turn be rich.

However, if we are not living in fairy tale land and we are talking absolute reality then...skinny and poor, no question. I've got the poor thing down, just working on the skinny thing. LOL!!!

If we changed the word skinny to healthy, I'd choose healthy and poor without a doubt.

But like everyone said, if I was rich - I could afford to get skinny!

Haha like Bea, I've got the poor part down, just got to get the skinny. So my answer is definitely skinny and poor. Money doesn't buy happiness!

It comes pretty damn close, though.

Yeah, but look at Oprah! I hear that she has a nickel or two squirreled away, and she doesn't seem to be able to buy her way out of the "fat zone"!

I'll pick healthy and poor.

I remember seeing a show about lottery winners once. They all had one thing in common after winning huge lotteries - they all got fat!

I love my band and my new flat tummy!

Egads, that's a hard one. I went with rich and fat because like people said, I could afford to take care of myself. Besides, other than the weight itself, some very mikld sleep apnea, and some occasional back spasms, I don't suffer from any other health problems at the moment and yesterday was the first time I weighed in not morbidly obese since college.

Although, I think it's easier for me to imagine being rich than skinny. If I ever knew what skinny felt like, I might decide differently.

Ok, if you pick rich and fat, you don't get to have any surgery....you have to know that you will stay fat....

Oppps, that changes things? Maybe?

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
