Let's help each other out by posting some recipes! I've seen some good stuff in the main thread - drinks and dishes that sound great. I'll start with one of my favorite Breakfast (or even lunch) meals.

Eggbeaters omelette:

1/2 cup of Eggbeaters 1/2 cup equals 2 large eggs - increase to 3/4 cup if you want a 3 egg omelette (if you can eat that much).

1/4 cup of Fat-free shredded cheese (I use this):Protein, and a great way to start the day! :bored:

What I ate for dinner tonight:

Spaghetti with turkey sausage. Ok, I know the sausage is a processed food, it's not something I do all the time - but it is good once in a while to break the diet up.

1 turkey sausage link - 160 calories, 10 grams of fat, 0 carbs, 17 grams of Protein.

Spaghetti Sauce (I use Emeril's) - one half cup (I didn't finish it all) - 75 calories, 4 grams of fat, 10 grams carbs, 2 grams of Protein.

Spaghetti - Heartland Wholegrain - 1oz. - 95 calories, 1 g of fat, 20 g carbs, 4 g protein.

This is one of my "heavier" meals, but it will keep me full for a long time. And I have noticed after eating (a small amount) of Pasta I will lose some weight. Both my dietitian and exercise physiologist told me I need no less than 100 g of carbs a day to burn fat.

This is just what I'm doing, I know things are different for everyone, and there are many ways to lose those pounds. Please share what you are eating! :) Someone had some really good drink ideas, I think I lost those recipes! (and I'm too lazy to go back through the very long master thread, lol) :crying:

Big hugs all! :crying:

Edit: Oops, I forgot to add the veggie I made with this  - we had asparagus (I can only eat the tips). I was very bad and ate the meat and carbs first (it's hard not to with spaghetti!) but I did manage a few asparagus tips. It's a "free" vegetable, meaning I never count any carbs or calories in it. I shoulda saved room for more of it though!

Baked chicken Fajitas Recipe

This is easy and healthy.

35 min | 15 min prep

SERVES 6 , 12 fajitas

This is a family friendly recipe, I just do not eat the tortillas.

1 lb boneless skinless chicken breast, cut into thin strips

1 (15 ounce) can diced tomatoes with green chilies, drained

1 medium onion, cut into thin strips

1 medium green pepper, cut into thin strips

1 medium red pepper, cut into thin strips

2 tablespoons canola oil

2 teaspoons chili powder

2 teaspoons ground cumin

1/4 teaspoon salt

12 flour tortillas, warm

In a 13x9x2-inch baking dish coated with nonstick cooking spray, combine the chicken, tomatoes, onion and peppers.

Combine the oil, chili powder, cumin and salt. Drizzle over chicken mixture, toss to coat.

Bake, uncovered, at 400°F for 20-25 minutes or until chicken is no longer pink and vegetables are tender.

Spoon onto tortillas; fold in sides.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
