It has been awhile

Recommended Posts

Hello All! It sure has been awhile since I posted here. I just want to share some with everyone.

Since I was banded I have finished my Associate Degree in Accounting, I graduated with honors in June of 08', and am now working on my Bachelors in Accounting.

Now, when I started this process I weighed 224 lbs. on my banding day I was 206 lbs. I am now at 160 lbs.:scared2::thumbup: Wearing size 24 when starting am now wearing size 14 and large in shirts. I went shopping at Victoria Secrets for the first time in Jan. Sure was nice to be able to buy something from there!:bored:

I just hope everyone is doing well and eating well!

Thanks!

Great job...I haven't been back here in awhile either. I am glad you have reached some goals in your life.

I am down 90 pounds now, from a 24 to a 16 docs office said to lose no more than 40 more pounds..

Plateaued now, but I have a stress fracture of my left foot, so my activities have slowed down.

I started at 336 wearing a size 54 pants. I am now at 225 wearing a size 36. I still want to loose 25 more pounds, but that is proving to be nearly impossible. Seems no matter what I do the scale does not move. I have been at 225 - 230 for 4 months now. Oh well I guess I can be happy at this size, but sure would lie to drop at least 15 more.

Went in to get a fill again, and was denied again. This time on the floru I actually had a bit of pouch expansion / dilation so I need to be a little more careful.

So gald you two are doing very well! Keep up the good work!

I know when I stop losing I must kick it up with more exercise..I ride my bike almost 10 miles a week and walk about the same.

Good luck in the future and stay on track.

This is scary.....9 days ago I was plateaued, and I didn't do anything different during those 9 days, and lost 5 pounds! Went to my regular doc for my annual physical, and I am down 45 pounds from last years visit to him.

I decided what the hell, go into Macy's, there was a sale....Well, I'll be damned, I fit into, so of course bought, a Jones NY suit for work in size 14!!! Yep a 14. The price was right too, so that makes it even a better thing.......

Congrats on your weight loss everyone. I too am stuck at a plateau. Since January I've lost and gained the same 5 pounds. I started running and lost a size, but not any weight, then had to have surgery on my foot. Gained back my size, but no weight. So very stuck around 150 mark.

I decided to do my liver shrinking diet again to see if it will jumpstart my weightloss. I considered doing the 5 day pouch test, but the 2 days on liquid only makes me grouchy. So I'm doing 2 shakes and 1 lean/green meal per day. This is day two, so far so good!!

Keep in touch everyone!

Hello all, I think we forget that when lossing weight we also build muscle. That muscle weighs more and that building muscle is not a bad thing either.

SuzanneG, that is so great to hear about the weight you have lost! Keep up the good work and good things will happen! Sometimes when I get stuck I just watch more of what I eat and when I eat it. Walk a little more or change up my exercise program.

I have made a call to go in for another fill in September. I have about 30 lbs to lose. I will be looking into the PS to remove the pann and a breast reduction in Jan.

When I called, I also had Cindy share the percentage of my weight loss with me, which was 33%. So after a year and a half, I feel I am doing great! I for one am not in a rush and am not trying to compare myself self with what others are doing or have done. Since we all lose in different ways and means. Our bodies after all are all different.

I like to take my time for the weight lost to give my body time to adjust and for my brain to retrain it self. This I believe gives me the longer lasting change I need for my life time. This weight loss and eating right, to me, is a process and retraining of what I "thought" was right.

You all take care, be well, do right!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
