I just got a fill, now at 8cc in a 10cc band. Little pissed I said I wanted a .5cc fill and the doc put in 1cc and then lectured me about filling the band too tight. He's dumb. Anyway now every once in awhile after I eat I get a little bit of acid. Just ever so slight but it's the first time I've had acid since having the band and it doesn't seem to come up in my throat like pre-band. Should I still be worried, especially if it only happens once in awhile...or do I need an unfill?

Just watch it for now. I usually get tighter a few days after a fill and if that happens you could wind up too tight. But everybody's different, and this may just be a reaction to the fill and will go away in a few days. Actual reflux can be a sign of being too tight...

I think you probably know best...if you want to get an unfill, do it. I usually have to BEG my doc for more, not get him to hold back! :(

but either way, we have a say; the band is OURS bought and paid for. If you think it's too tight, it is.

well I've just never been this tight before. I've had restriction but I've never had to worry about chugging water/drink or chewing slow/small bites...so maybe that's all it is...and usually I do tend to be tight right away and then get looser. I just don't want my doctor to do an unfill and either take away a full cc or more out just to be a dick. I told him I wanted .5cc my 3rd fill and he gave me 2 and then this time I asked for .5 cc again and got 1cc. urggggg...(and he also was saying that it's all my fault that I plateu at times and that I just get lazy) My habits aren't the best but they are consistent and I still plateau...and I have PCOS and hypothyroidism so I lose a bit slower than most...urg...douche.

I just went through the same thing however it has been almost 2 weeks and things are much better. If I eat too late at night I still seem to have a bit of acid, and I am having a harder time getting my Water in but I was down 4.7 pounds last week so I think I can adjust! I have 8 in a 10 but have a small leak so I want to take advantage of the restriction while its great!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
