You and me both! LOL!

I'm currently dragging my sorry rear through the final hours of my liquid pre-op diet phase and I find if I get involved in something, like, oh, say, a forum somewhere ( :smile2: ) the time passes more quickly and I stop thinking about how great some fried chicken would taste right about now!

It will go away. Usually, at about 6 months, you will notice the same questions and same things being posted, and you will tire of reading the same things.

I belonged to that club about a year ago!!!! Now I am just involved in a few threads where we are a close knit community and visit on a daily basis. Not to worry.....you will be so busy with your new life a few month down the road and have absorbed so much knowledge from this site that you will slowly move on. Good luck to you on your journey!

LOL.. I'm semi addicted, I'm at work also doing the day and I'm on it, I like to read others experiences, then when I go home I get on it, not as much becasue I have to listen to my husband say something about it.. LOL my new best friend, I told him it's very informational to learn from others, he need to find him a hobby... So I try and wait until he goes to bed, then jumps back on it.. LOL... but I really love this website only been reviewing it for about 4 months. It might get old later on...

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
