bobbiezhere 0 Posted June 22, 2009 On my pre op list, it says "no milk products" - so i know that means no milk, yogurt, cheese....i am on a pure no carb thing too...so...what about eggs? I know they are considered "dairy" (my list does not say "no dairy" just no milk products). My thoughts are having an egg for Breakfast...Ive got a call in to ask this, but havent heard back yet - i start my pre op tomorrow. My thought would be ok because i am allowed 70-80 grams of Protein divided in my 3 meals. Thoughts?
TopTier 0 Posted June 23, 2009 Every surgeon apparently has different pre-op requirements. Mine alots me 3 dairies a day, 1/2 cup each. The key is the Protein and low carb/low fat. If eggs are specifically disallowed, and they only said no milk products and not no dairy, I might consider it. But. . . obviously, to be sure, call the doctor's nutritionist. swneighbours 0 Posted June 23, 2009 I'm on the pre-op diet now and am having skim milk with my Protein Shakes, thinned sugar-free pudding, and milk with Tomato Soup. The five days before surgery for me is a clear liquid diet which is really going to suck.
