Lose or Maintain Ten Week Challenge--#1

Okay guys I thought that I would come up with a generic challenge that would cover us all. I know many have weight to lose, many are trying to maintain. We can do these in ten week increments. I know for me these challenges help to keep me on track. I have lost too much weight to turn back now. I hope you all will join me. :(

Woohoo!!! I have officially lost 120 lbs!! That's a nice round number. I know I really am trying to maintain, but don't mind losing a little. :thumbup:

Hey, I'm in on the challenge... I am S-T-U-C-K at low to mid 280's. Sometimes I get frustrated, but i remind myself that I had almost 200 pounds to lose in the first place and it just won't come off that fast! Heck, it took me about 11 years to gain what I did and only 18 months to get back down to my freshman college weight... Now, with 210 on the horizon, that will put me back to my "freshman" in High School weight... (we'll see) When I hit 270, that will be lower than I was when I met my wife. Hmmm... hope she recognizes me. ???:thumbup::smile2:

Surprisingly, I went on vacation back to TX for 2 weeks and came back at 278 as of this morning on my bathroom scale.

I think it has a LOT to do with the fact that I only ate Mexican food TWICE in that entire 2 weeks. (Oh how I LOVE Chile Rellenos)

I'm going to Houston and San Antonio next week. We are leaving Sunday night. I can't wait. I LOVE Mexican food. So yummy!!

I am going to join the challenge a little late. I've gained a few pounds after I had half of my fill taken out due to reflux in May. I got a fill on Tuesday and it is good to have restriction again.

We started a Biggest Loser contest at work on Monday so that is also helping. We are all being good so there are no treats in the office.

I hope everyone is doing well. It is good to be back.

Hi all,

I'm back. I've been kind of happily sitting at my current weight for about 9 months now. I guess I've been testing myself to see if I would gain anything back. Even though I have not been watching my diet, I have not gained a pound. I have had two very stressful events happen this year. My mom died of complications from dementia in March and my dad was diagnosed with lung cancer last month. The other day, I found myself in the kitchen, crying and nibbling on a stick of butter. Old habits die hard.

The fact that I have not gained anything, even in this most stressful time has made me confident that I can lose more if I just try. I have decided to focus on losing more, because my dad would be so happy to see me thin. Also, I want to set a good example for my husband, who REALLY needs to lose weight. If I can prove that the band works, I might be able to talk him into it.

With those lofty goals on my horizon, I plow forth into this challenge.
