BillOH,

I'm trying to figure out what your post has to do with mine. Based on the urinal comments, do you assume i am male? Just wondering since my post is related.

I don't think so. I think your comment about having to wait in line in the restroom reminded him of some irritating episodes of his own waiting times in the restroom.

He did start off by saying it was barely related! LOL!

thank you all for sharing your stories. i am a new bandster on the losers bench, and am somewhat scared or anxious for my first experience of PBing. i am reading as much as I can so I can "tell" when it comes, but........until it happens, it really is a big unknown.

although - yesterday I ate my soft foods and I think I ate too fast. it's peach yogurt. the greek yogurt kind. so it is THICK. well, as I swallowed it felt kind of stuck - but not sure if that was it or not. I did run to the bathroom. LOL it must've gone down cuz then it was okay. not sure if I didn't chew the peach up enough or I ate too fast or ??? but it did make me wonder if "this is it" from this post.

Yep, Paisley. That's "it." Sometimes it stings a little more than other times, but it is mostly something a person can tolerate. That stuck feeling will sometimes result in a burping up of gunk. It sounds horrible, but it's not really that bad, and it doesn't happen often (for me at least).

For me, it has less to do with chewing than it has to do with consistencies of food. I wouldn't be able to drink and eat. I know you're not supposed to, and don't get me wrong, I don't drink and eat. It is when I have a watery type of food with a more solid type that I've gotten a bubble trapped. I can't do applesauce with anything else. It really sounds more awful than it is, unless you happen to be the keynote speaker at a conference or something very public when it happens. Then mostly I just make up some lame excuse and then laugh about it later with my bandy friends.

I take it this is more common after a fill? I haven't had trouble with a single food/item yet, but my band is also still empty.

I was visiting family in Chicago and we went out to dinner at Chili's. I was trying to drink a margarita while eating dinner (yes, I know. But it was sooooo good!) and it was just toooo much Fluid to try to put in my stomach. I had to run to the bathroom and throw up at Chili's. We left soon after, and I was still uncomfortable for the rest of the night.

I was trying to be good too! I ordered a half turkey sandwich and small salad - and I still got sick.

Onehotmama, yep. It is more common just after fills and in the morning for me.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
