Sorry its kinda hard to find things with the search, so it might be a repost.

Oh, I have a feeling you'll know if you try to eat too much! I could eat about a child-sized hamburger before I got my fills, but every tummy is different. Just go slowly and stop when you feel full. When you get filled, you will have to go more slowly until you find your new size. Then it will just keep becoming less and less with each fill.

I'm also wondering this. Trying to follow the recommended quantities in my plan but still a little unsure. I also think that although i am eating a lot slower than normal its probably not as slow as it should be.

I am about a month post-op and waiting not so patiently for my first fill on July 1. I had restriction for the first few weeks after surgery while on liquids and mushies but now I am on "real" food and I have a "real" appetite to go along with it. While I am still eating less than I was before I am still eating more than just a cup of food at a time. The scale has stopped moving and its like regular old dieting before the band again.

I have joined a gym and hired a personal trainer and just trying not to sabotage the weight I have already lost until I can finally get filled!

I am an "oldie," banded Dec 07. I remember clearly being able to eat a horse :) 2 weeks after surgery....that was worrisome! Then I got my first fill and knew how restriction was supposed to feel. I kept up with fills often during the first year and have found that is really the key for me. You'll get used to it!!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
