I have had a hard time with lettuce since my surgery. Every time I try it, no matter how much I chew it, it comes back up. I am stubborn and very optimistic, so I won't give up. Maybe some day I will be able to eat it. I eat lots of vegetables, so that is not a problem.... just really want a salad every now and then. Funny how our bands all have different personalities... just like we do I guess :bored: Good luck to you. Sorry you had to go through this and thanks for reminding us all how important it is to chew, chew, chew. Take care. Becky

Lol, it sounds disgusting but I've thought the same thing - I thought I CHEWED that!!!

Still, at least what comes back out of MY stomach beats the entire hotdog my son threw up last week. Seriously, it had some bite marks in it and that was it!:bored:

ewww I know what you mean about the hot dog.... My kids do the same. It makes we wonder "Do I feed them enough? Are they starving when they eat?" LOL My youngest even had a WHOLE green bean come out his nose once when he vomited.....

I am sitting here reading this and chewing the heck out of my watermelon so that IT doesn't get stuck. Yes, the other day I PBed watermelon, of all things.

I'm about 7 weeks post-surgery, and 1 tiny chewed up cube of Watermelon actually made me barf! I will not forget that feeling anytime soon......

Spinach is terrible!

About 1 month after surgery, I was trying to eat some spinach casserole, and it was my first PB. And it was just awful.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
