How many more fills until I feel the fullness again

Recommended Posts

I had my first fill about a month ago. I received 3 cc in a 10 cc band. Sorry, I don't know the technical name for the bank I have, but I apparently have the larger of the two 10cc bands, if that makes any sense to anyone.

When I first got the fill I was pretty satisfied with little food. Now, about 3 weeks later, I barely feel satisfied. I am astonished about what I can eat sometimes. Definitely not like it was preband, but more than a probably should. I have still lost some weight since last fill, maybe about 3-4 lbs.

I will get another 1cc at the next fill. Just wondering if there is anyone went thru something similar.

It typically takes several fills until you reach your sweet spot. One thing you should remember is when you have a fill your stomach sells which could lead to a greater amount of restriction. When the swelling goes down your restriction will become less. Just think of it this way at least you have the option of getting another fill and adjusting it to your needs. Keep your head up and good luck!

FYI: I had 9 fills before I felt any significant restriction. I thought I was failing since I wasn't losing any weight. But now I feel it and should be able to lose adequately. Good luck to all and welcome to lapband!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
