Hi, everyone!

My goodness... am I glad this thread was started! I've actually been in hiding and haven't dared to visit the site in about a month because my weightloss has stalled and I felt like a total failure. I knew to expect bandster hell, but I somehow envisioned that everyone that was banded in May had already lost like 40-50 pounds, unlike myself. I know, ridiculous!

Well, today something in me told me to just "face the music" and visit the site (if at least for inspiration). So I'm really relieved that my weight loss so far isn't too, too, too bad. If anything, I guess I'm pretty much average. (JUST TOOK A DEEP EXHALE)... The great thing is that I'm not alone in this, and I musn't forget that. It could be better, but it could be worse.

Whew, I feel "normal" again. Thanks for your posts, everyone. You all have NO idea how much your honest, simple responses have restored my hope. And so we chug along... one day at a time

you are right we are all differant and our bodies react differantly. I was stuck for a week and a half and then gained 3 lbs back. but this week I lost those 3 lbs and an additional 2!! our bodies are strange and we are all learning how to live this new life of a banster and what does and doesn't work for each of us. Im glad you checked in and feel better about your weightloss. Keep striving forward and you will do great!!!

I had my 1st fill of 4 cc's 2 weeks ago, and now feel I could use a lot more restriction!

I am only down 23-24 lbs and feel I MUST get on that treadmill if I want to see a difference.

I go for a 2nd fill in 2 more weeks. Headin' towards that sweet spot one visit at a time!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
