TeganRheana 1 Posted June 18, 2009 Ok I had no idea where to put this...so please move if it's in the wrong place, but I have question that I have no one else to ask about lol...has anyone had a loss of libido since getting banded (just for the record I know its not caused by the band). Could it/would it be because of losing weight? I've heard some people on here say something about estrogen being stored in the fat...so when we lose the fat, could that be why?? Could be, but probably it's just that you haven't fully recovered from the surgery and the initial drastic change in your diet and the liquid phase and all. I'm sure you'll soon be doing better!!! Probably much better than before surgery!!

RestlessMonkey 7 Posted June 18, 2009 Released estrogen shouldn't make you unwilling to have sex. Is it possible you're just, well, basically unsure about yourself as you are losing? The band focuses our thoughts on our weight and makes many of us hyper aware of it...then as you lose a chunk, (as has cindie) you are "different". (not bad...just "different") It can take some people a while to adjust to the newer smaller body and to feel comfortable. If it's problematic, ask your surgeon or your psych. consultant. For me, the opposite is true. Weight goes down, libido goes up!
FailureIsntAnOption 0 Posted June 18, 2009 My libido has certainly increased. I thought that it possibly had to do with the increase in exercise. I know my husband sure is enjoying my increased energy level. My bicycle riding with my husband has certainly increased his libido. Banded 4/17/09 first fill 5/30/09 1.6 cc next fill sch for 6/26/
