TeganRheana 1 Posted June 16, 2009 I have just had my first fill (just over a week ago) and he did 4cc. It has definately given me restiction in how much food I can eat and how fast I get full, but I have also had an increase in PB'ing. It usually only happens when I eat bread. This afternoon for lunch I tried half a ham sandwhich (toasted) but it just came right back up. I've decided I will be avoiding any kind of bread from now on.This is normal though right? I was told that some people cannot handle bread - I guess I'm one of them.

Most people can't eat bread which is really good since we should avoid carbs except veggies and some fruits during our weight loss phase. Many people can't eat rice and Pasta either. tyhelms 0 Posted June 16, 2009 Wow, that was a big fill, I recv my first fill on yesterday 06/15 and he gave me 2.5cc.. on liquids for a week, so I hope I will have restriction when I start back on solid foods.
a-newme 0 Posted June 17, 2009 I have also decided that bread just doesn't work for me. The PB/Blocks are so painful, it's not worth it. The other day, I thought I would try a pita pizza, thinking that it really didn't have a thick crust. I would eat a bit and get blocked, yet to try and try again... I am stuborn, but finally realized that bread is no longer an option for me... I have had two fills of 1 cc each (06/02 & 06/09) and am headed back into to the dr. in two days for a 3rd fill. Good luck to you!! p
christan007 0 Posted June 17, 2009 I just had my first fill this morning. I was so nervous and it didn't even hurt at all! Silly me. He put in 5cc, which I believe is half way full for my band. I am on liquids today so I won't know how I feel until tomorrow. I am looking forward to feeling a little more restricted but I'm also nervous at the same time. Hopefully all goes well! crzytchr 3 Posted June 17, 2009 My surgeon routinely puts 4ccs in at the first fill, but I requested a much smaller amount.
Sarah.R 2 Posted June 18, 2009 Oh Tegan I want to hug you, as weird as that sounds lol. I had my first fill yesterday and the most I'd heard of anyone getting is about 2.5cc but I got 4cc's as well. I'm a bit worried though because when I went in my nurse said that 4cc's was put in during surgery as well so I have a total of 8. So I'm paranoid now that it's too much, I guess I won't really know for sure until I transition back to eating but if it is too much I'll be going back for an unfill and then requesting they don't put in any more than 1cc from now on - Which don't know if it'll happen because the surgeon *rolls eyes* says how much goes in. BUT I'm the one with the band not him so he better listen to me lol.
nfl1 0 Posted June 18, 2009 I got 2.5 ccs first fill, 1cc 2nd fill, .5 for the 3rd and 4th, .4 for the 5th...and definitely feel the restriction. I didn't have any problems with adjusting each time, and with the liquid for 24 hours and mushy the 2nd day have also pb'd only once (that was due to the citrical big honking pill, so I am back on the viactiv chew instead).
