hi everyone, I need some help. I had surgery back on Jan 28th and had a lot of success. I have lost about 65 lbs so far. I have about 40lbs to go. Problem is that I PB all the time, atleast once a day. I try to eat slow and small bites but it still happens. It is very uncomfortable, and unless I drink 10 mins prior to eatting and then drink while I am eatting I have to PB. This is such a problem, I resort to Soup with my protien to not have to deal with PBing. Is this normal?? Since my doctor filled my back in April to 7.2cc in a 10cc band this has happened. The last month I really have not lost any weight. I am fearful the problems this is possibly having on my esphogous and my band. Anyone out there having this issue? Help!

Right, the first thing you should reach for is the phone to check in with your doctor.

It may be an 'over-fill.'

Yep this one is one for the doc. What you describe isn't good nor how the band is supposed to function. You need medical intervention.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
