Controversal Topic - XXX Rated Thread

De - just be careful!

There are a lot of freaks out there that are still waiting for David Koresh to lead them out of Waco, Texas.

I think it has to do with details. Too many details of private matters (like religion or sex) could be offensive. I honestly havent been offended *maybe shocked* but not offended by details in discussions on this board... and this includes religious talk as well.

Banning religion, sex, political talk on this board wouldnt "solve" anything. Too many people come here to vent and enjoy the "commeness" and relaxed enviroment this place offers. Keeping in mind that we want to include and NOT exclude - ANYONE! Whether it be the un-churched, the un-sexed, the uninformed...

This is the point I was trying to make on my first reply on this thread. Its all in the details.

Paula, I have no idea what you're talking about. Details? David who? Waco? I even read your reply twice - I still don't get it. Xanax, who me? What strength would you like? PM me because I'm missing something.

I never said I wanted anything banned. No, no, no. Just the opposite. On top of the Private Messages and e-mails, somebody disguised as a good Christian did something that was not very Christian to me, and I started this post because I'm sick of people sneaking around whipsering and hiding in Private messages and e-mails. When that didn't shut me up, they played a nasty little trick on me that backfired. I got mad and started this thread to open people's eyes. What's fair is fair. I just happend to chose religion versus sex because it makes for a good example.

Shai, thank you. I appreciate you understanding my point.

As with every belief system, there are always those who make the rest look bad. It's unfortunate that someone treated you wrong. Personally, I'm proud to be a Christian (Free Will Baptist), saved by the grace of God through Jesus' death & resurrection. I'll only witness to those who ask.

I may or may not agree with everyone's views, but I respect their right to have them and not agrue if I disagree.

Okay, here goes...

Who would you consider to be the true father of Existentialism? Some would say it finds its nucleus with the offerings of Soren Kierkegaard -- while others might claim its defining essence wasn't truly comprehended on any scale of significance until Fredich Nietzche bellowed his famous exclamations about God and religion. And there are yet others who would assert the title belongs to the 20th century French Existentialists, such as Sartre, who actually labled the "Existentialist" thought system as such.

Okay, now don't tempt me or I'll go get out my old "Fabric of Existentialism" textbook and start typing some pithiness from "Of Being and Nothingness" and you'll all REALLY go to sleep!

No Xanax necessary.

(Anyway, I vote Kierkegaard--unless you want to consider that the Empericists really started the whole thing.)

I don't think we can talk about existentialism on this thread unless we have some naked pictures of Friedrich Nietzsche and Jean Paul Sartre, preferably with toys!

I'm too stupid for my own thread now. Thanks, Francesca. Go start your own braniac thread and leave us Pollocks alone. (I can say that, I'm 100%.) And I say it with forbidden Coca Cola shooting out of my nose.

I haven't had the interest to read enough about Kirk or Nietz, however, in the spirit of keeping MY thread alive, what are are your thoughts on the drunken existentialist, Kerouac? I kinda gel with the guy (wasn't he naked when he wrote the book?) How does that song go?

Oh man DeLarla....now I *know* I dig you....Jack Kerouac is a much fave of mine. "On The Road" is just....just.....mind boggling. Love it. And living near San Francisco, I go to the City Lights bookstore (where Jack and other beat writers used to hang out in the '50's) and I feel the history there and it never fails to GEEK ME OUT.

I don' know nuthin' about them there guys that Francesca mentioned tho....

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
