Need some advice...

BR and abdominoplasty went well (just took forever). Relatively little pain just really, really swollen and tired. I also have horrible blisters from dressings and tapes. Did anyone have horrible skin sensitivity? If so, any suggestions? The biggest problem is that they are under the compression garment and when I move it, they become aggravated all over again. Thanks.

Hi:

Maybe you have an allergy to whatever the dressings and/or tapes are made of. Latex??? Not sure what to do about that.

I didn't like the feeling of my binder over my sensitive sore skin. I read somewhere to wear a very worn out t-shirt under the compression garment because it would feel soft against the skin. I didn't have one, so I started wearing my compression garment over my nightgown or over my pajama top and it was alot more comfortable when it wasn't directly on my skin.

I hope you heal quickly.

I love my band and my new flat tummy!

Sue

I ended up with a huge wound seperation that took over 4 months to close, so 2 times a day we had to pack with gauze and cover with pads and tape, I ended up with blisters from all the tape, UNTILL I switched to a paper tape, I found it at target and walgreens, and sav-on. I believe almost any store sells it near the band aids.

I also would wear my binder over a long soft t-shirt to keep the itching and aggravation to my skin down.

Good luck!!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
