Didn't the doctor give you anti-nausea meds? If not, call him/her and ask for some. Hope you feel better.

I think what you are experiencing is quite normal. It is hard to be hopeful and naseaus at the same time. I was really naseaus for several days if not a week post surgery. I had medication to take- I had to force myself to take it but it worked everytime. Call your dr if you don't have any. Also- I think the pain meds can make you sick to your stomach especially an empty stomach. Ask you dr. about that also. This will pass and everything will turn out okay. Hang in there and don't be a matyr- call your dr and get some help. Everyone responds differently to the surgery so just hang on.

Just hold out a bit longer. It's SO worth it! You will discover this in time.

There is a phenegren gel you can ask your doctor for. You rub it on your wrists and it works wonders. I've had it before for nausea. I haven't felt that way yet with my surgery (hopefully i wont).

Hang in there! If you have problems w/ your blood sugar dropping too low, it can make you feel sick to your stomach. When I was waking up from my surgery, I was very nauseous. The nurse had me sip on some "strong" Hawaiian Punch and put an alcohol swab over the bridge of my nose. I know it sounds goofy, but the alcohol swab worked wonders!

Thank you all for your responses. My husband has been forcing me to take more fluids. broth, very soft Jello, weak Decaf tea, Water etc. and it seems to have helped the nausea a lot. how ever i have been throwing up. not much comes out, just a lil bit of liquid and then the dreaded bile. im so afraid that at this early stage i could be doing damage. of course it is the weekend now, and i have to wait to see my surgeon until next week.

anyon else experience the throwing up in the early days of your band?

Call your doctors office. They should have an answering service. Let the answering service know what is going on. They'll relay the message to your doctor who should call in an anti-nausia med. In my packet, it lists vomiting under the "CALL IMMEDIATLY" section. Good luck and keep us posted

Call your doctor indeed. You don't need an appointment to get nausea meds. They will call them in to the pharmacy for you.

I had the same issue as you. I felt gross after surgery and was dry heaving a LOT. Finally called the doctor after two days and he gave me the anti-nausea meds. They made me sleep and feel groggy but even feeling groggy, I felt SO much better since I didn't feel nauseous!

I only had to take the meds for a day and some change, but boy I'm glad I called and got them. I felt horrible before. I had a bad reaction to the anesthesia and definitely was cursing my choice to have the surgery for the first week and change.

I'd do it again though. I've been banded for almost three months and have dropped a little over 40 pounds. I am thankful for that, even though the first week after surgery was horrible!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
