I was banded on 6/05/09 and am feeling the same way. I have been eating the sugar free popsicles drinking the Protein Drinks and drinking different Soups. I run them through a colander and drink the liquid portion and give the vegetables and noodles to my 2 yr old. I could not handle plain chicken and beef broth. Today is my one week anniversery.

Homemade veggies Soups - well blended. they hit the spot and feel far more like food than Protein Shakes do.

I di well on my liquid diet, but only becaues I knew I HAD to do well or I would die... or so I thought :-) I just didn't want to ruin my band and I was ready to start my weight loss and that was the first step. I was very happy with the liquid dietbecause I lost 50 of the 80 pounds that way!

Stick with it friends. I was banded on 2/2/09 and during the liquid faze I wanted to commit suicide. I was so depressed and HUNGRY. After 2 weeks I started the mushies even though I was suppose to wait 3 weeks.

I know it is hard but you can do it. The rewards will come later. I am less than 4.5 months out and I am down 74 lbs as of this am.

Stick with it, it is difficult but you can do it

Today is day one of my pre-op liquid diet. I get one small meal so I am saving that for dinner time. I am going to do this because I have to. I dont want to die young. I need to be here for my girls. You can do it  we all can. I go in for surgery on June 26th. I am very excited for my lifestyle change.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
