Had surgery May 26th , went to see my doctor today for post-op follow up (was supposed to go last wk but cancelled), and he schedule my first fill for next wk.

That will be 3 wks post up, but he said I will be getting only .5cc because I already have 3cc in my band (I guess he put in 3 cc during the surgery)

I don't think the .5 cc will make any difference and I told him so.

Consider yourself lucky. most people have nothing in their band until 6-8 weeks after surgery. Imagine having to go through bandster hell for that long!lol Anywhoo good luck to you.:)

I total agree Bandest Hell was hell. I was banded on the 30th of March, and did not have my first fill until May 23rd and came away from surgery with nothing. It was bad. But I made it thru, my second fill is June 23rd. and I can not wait. Good luck and keep up the good work.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
