(Sorry everyone this is pity party for me day) Well I have stepped into the scale trap. Every day I come into work go directly to the work out center and jump on the scale. I need to quit this. The scale has not move since I went on real food. I have started to track what I am eating, but it is sometimes hard to track three bites of something. I am walking about 15 minutes a day. It is just a great big ol "sigh" for me today.

It could be affected by something as simple as what you just had to drink. Weigh yourself in the morning before you eat and after you go potty. If you still are not losing log your food. You should also start increasing your exercise little by little each day. Don't get me wrong it is great that you are walking but increased cardio will help you lose fat. Above all do not give up! Keep plugging and you will be fine. Best of luck.

I fully understand justpeachy. The moment I went on solids my scale jumped 5 lbs. Finally after keeping to 1200 a day and exercising its starting to go back down I am really hoping to be back where I "started" by beginning of next week and then start seeing some actual progress. I cant wait until I get to my "sweet spot" trying not to dwell on the fact it can take months to get there. Hang in there most of us banditos are in the "bandster hell" right now.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
