Hello everyone! Just had a question about a stuck episode I had this morning. I knew better, but I was eating a sausage biscuit on the drive to work this morning. After 3 bites, it got stuck. :redface:OMG, it hurt. :ihih: When it came back up, there was quite a bit of blood with it. Is this normal? I feel fine now, except I know I'm swollen. I can just barely get Water down, so I'm drinking warm coffee that seems to be soothing. Has anyone else experienced this? I have only been banded since April 8th, so I'm still fairly new at this.:unsure:Thanks in advance for any input and advice.

Donna:smile:

I had an episode the other day with a productive burp when I ate tuna. Mine came back up just as it went down, but there was no blood. I don't think blood would be normal. You may want to give your surgeon a call. Best of luck.

Eek! I've had my share of "productive burping" but never any blood. I agree with carriemc78 that you should probably call your doctor. Good Luck!!

I get that a lot. Turns out in my case it's acid reflux. Chew some tums or something and see if that takes it away.

A lot of people say the acid reflux goes away with weight loss in many cases. I never had it that bad, but it has stopped.

I'm hoping that's the case. I've gotten acid reflux with certain foods my entire overweight life, not anything major but very annoying.

I have never heard of blood with a PB. I would call the doctor to be safe.

Was the blood bright or dark? Odds are if it was light, you may have scratched something on the way up. If it was dark, that's not a good sign. But all in all, call the Dr. Better to be safe than sorry.

I have had a couple of episodes, but I only had one time a little blood came up. And it was the bread for me. I am unable to get any time of bread down at all. But I do agree with the others if you do not feel better I would call my dr. just to make sure. Be careful

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
