lisbeth 0 Posted June 10, 2009 Hi! I was banded on june 4th and I was wondering when should I start taking Multivitamin? ?? My Dr suggested the Bariatric Advantage Vitaband...does anyone know that brand? By the way anyone comes from Montreal? I was banded by Dr Miller (self pay) in a private clinic. It was absolutely wonderful, great team and it was like a 5 stars hotel!!!:cursing: before/current/goal 254/230.5/
annjones 3 Posted June 10, 2009 I take a multi Vitamin. When not restricted to liquids (after a fill) I take Mega Vita Min for Women (from Puritan's Pride www.puritan.com). I usually break it in half and take 1/2 at a time. When on liquid I found a good one at costco and there are several out there. Since I only take the liquid form after a fill it lasts a while. Hope this helps
johnp 0 Posted June 10, 2009 I take the Vitamin Shop liquid Multivitamins. My Dr does not allow anything in pill form
TeacherTracy 0 Posted June 10, 2009 Lisbeth-You were banded on the 4th like me as a self pay and you have already lost 24 pounds! Wow!! Congratulations! I need to know your secret. I have only lost 4 pounds at the most on my clear liquid diet. I think my body feels like it's in starvation mode and hanging on to everything I have. Carriedaway78 0 Posted June 10, 2009 I take Vitaband watermelon chewables, 2 tablets a day.
hdmdavid 0 Posted June 10, 2009 "Flintstones, meet the Flintstones..." I admit, I take the Flinstones chewables. After checking the contents, I realized I wasn't missing anything from an "adult" tablet, and at least they attempt to flavor it. As an added bonus, I was able to get my daughter to start taking HER Vitamins. :ihih: David
lisbeth 0 Posted June 10, 2009 Hi! my weight at my surgery was 236, i just lost 6 pounds since my surgery and I don't understand why we don't loose more weight since we eat nothing!!! My 254 is before the 10 days liquid diet pre op. I shredded 24 pounds since may 14th!!!!
jlray 0 Posted June 10, 2009 I take an orange-flavored Centrum chewable. But now I might start thinking about taking the Flintstones - good idea! Are they cheaper?
cheri634 0 Posted June 10, 2009 I can't take liquid Vitamins, or children's chewables, or anything that could possible burp a Vitamin smell or taste. When I was little I ate an entire bottle of flintstones chewable when my mom was taking a nap, and it made me violently ill. Ever since, any smell or taste of Vitamins brings back terrible nausea. So, I have been taking the viactiv chews since my surgery. They do have 20 calories, so I account for it in my food tracking. When I was still on liquids, I would let it dissolve slowly in my mouth, but that took forever. Now, I just chew them very well. And, it's like a little chocolate treat too! nfl1 0 Posted June 10, 2009 I second the Flintstones Complete chewables...1 a day, + Viactiv chews (for the calcium) 2-3/day according to my nutritionist. I don't always take 2-3 sometimes 1-2. I was banded Jan 20, hit pound #40 recently!
hdmdavid 0 Posted June 10, 2009 I take an orange-flavored Centrum chewable. But now I might start thinking about taking the Flintstones - good idea! Are they cheaper? Yeah...at my Walmart the 150 ct bottle of the Flintstones was about a buck cheaper than the 100 ct bottle of Centrum. The other plus for me is that it has multiple flavors (cherry, grape, and orange) so I get a little variety...lol David
alabubba 0 Posted June 10, 2009 I do the Flintstones as well, Every morning I open the jar and pass them around to all the kiddies as well. Although, My oldest daughter has been telling me about "gumi" type Vitamins for adults. Anyone tried them?
Emilie1 3 Posted June 10, 2009 I take Centrum silver. At the time it was the only chewable I could find. I figured that if my blood work looked good I would continue with what works. CVS also sells a genirc form for about half the price. I take it at night and it is kind of like desert. ha, ha. The nutritionist wanted me to take only what they sold at the Dr. office, but it was a little expensive.

simone 0 Posted June 10, 2009 I take Viactive chewable multi's. They have a flavor that tastes just like chocolate covered cherries. I also take a chewable Calcium from Walmart, the carmel flavor. I actually look forward to taking my Vitamins because it's like getting a daily piece of candy. Yum!
