My co-worker thought there would be a tube sticking out of my abdomen and that was the way you got a fill!!:lol::lol::lol::lol:

Mine did, too, lmao!!

When I told her about the lapband, that was her impression. I had no idea she was thinking that. She just told me yesterday that she watched a medical show and realized it's under the skin! DUH, lol! I was wondering why her expression was like  when I told her about it in the first place.

Well ever since my surgeon telepathically placed the band, I have had the worst zits on my abdomen and this one friggin' line on my abdomen that I think the tattoo guy put there - still red - I hope my tat is not infected!

Okay - I am considering getting LapBand and trying to learn everything I can. This is my first time to post. I just had to. This is too funny. If it were that easy, I would have done it already.

OK, this is a funny thread, but I have to say there IS some truth to what the lady said in the nail salon! Maybe she saw the same show I did in the morning.

A couple of weeks ago, on Good Morning America they showed a NEW procedure that is being tested that is non-surgical. They go through the mouth down the esophagus and work from there.

Here is a link to the story:

No Scars: New Obesity Surgery Goes Through Mouth - ABC News

Sounded really cool, but will be a while before it is mainstream.. I'd rather not wait!

By the way, my mom thought I was going to have a tube sticking out of me to do the fills too..haha!!!

So, there is sometimes a bit of truth in the banter that goes on! :tongue_smilie:

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
