Sorry for your loss. I lost my mother in 2000 unexpectedly. Losing your mother is one of the worst feelings you could ever experience. Only God and time can take the pain away. Pray and believe.

Daniela, there are no words to express how much grief you must be feeling. I am completely overwhelmed by the emotion and sadness you must be experiencing.

I lost my father to cancer when he was 54. He was suffering in the end so it was for the best that he passed. But it did not deaden the pain of the loss. Nothing does. I still miss him to this day. This poem helped me as I wrote it when he passed away. I hope it lends some comfort to you.

TEARS by: Penni Merrick

Tears of joy,

Tears of sorrow,

Tears of happiness,

Tears of the old,

Tears of the young,

Tears for fear,

Tears for tears.

Why do we have tears?

It is a cleansing of the grief stricken soul!

Daniela, I lost my mom at exactly the age you are now. I know this isn't going to mean much now, but time heals. She will always be in your heart and mind as my mother is to this day. Take comfort in the fact that you two must have had a wonderful relationship. My prayers are with you and your family!

I know you are going through the most difficult time of your life. I lost my Mom and Dad 10 days apart from each other, and I thought my world was going to end. I still get tears in my eyes everytime I think about it. It took me about 3 years before I could talk about them without crying. My heart goes out to you, I wish I could hold your hand and tell you it does get easier, it just takes some time. Pretty soon, you can start remembering the good times you had with her, and they will become pretty special to you.

Your day will come, just take a little time to heal from all this. My Mom always use to tell me "Good things come to those who wait", and I am a true believer in that.

Hugs, and my thoughts and prayers are with you. Now, your Mom can be your Angel watching over you during your surgery.

Daniela,

My prayers and thoughts are with you and your family.

My Dad died 18 yrs ago at a time in my life when we were really getting to know each other since he was an alcoholic. He stopped drinking and we were enjoying the time making up for what we missed. Then he left. The hurt was tremendous but after time I realized that the passing of our parents, no matter how hard it is, is the proper progression in life. I also learn quickly that he never really left because I didn't want him to. He's here every day and as long as I think of him every day he will show up. I'll never let him go.

Hopefully you'll be able to do the same with your mom.

Remember we are spiritual beings having a human experience. So the spirits in us still can communicate that never dies.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.
