Before & After Pictures

Recommended Posts

Ok, So it is a start of a new month and many of us have or are coming up on our Month anniversary and many will be hitting it soon. So I thought it would be fun to start a before & after thread, so we can all share in our progress.

So Here is mine, The pictures are not the best sorry.

I am still having a hard time seeing the changes, but I feel the differences.. in my clothes and I know that the outside appearance will catch up I guess... I just wish the weight loss would help with my Lupus Rash (this is why my face is so red and has sores)

Karianne, you look fantastic! It's amazing the difference in just one month. I took before pictures, but I'm too embarrassed to post them. Perhaps when I take some "during" pictures that are a little more flattering.

In the meantime, anyone else has some B&A pictures, we'd all love to see them. It's great inspiration! :bored:

I can definitely see the difference!! Keep up the great work!!

I lost most of my weight pre-op, and frankly have only lost a couple pounds since the surgery but I'm not worried. I'm still feeling great and I know things will happen eventually.

Here I am in February:

And here I am on Friday heading to my class reunion (well, I did put shoes on first haha):

Here's a picture that was taken of me when my journey started in January of 2009( 337 lbs). The current picture was taken August 16th, 2009 ( 248lbs). A work in progress.:)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
