Ok I tried the eas choc. pre mixed shake today and it was nasty. the first drink was ok but after that it went down hill. I do not like milk so i am trying to find some shake that does not compare to milk in any way. I would like something pre mixed if possible. I am afraid if i mix it myself i might add extra cals, carbs and fat to it. if anyone knows of any shakes that are not like milk or has any recipes please let me know. thanks

I didn't care too much for the EAS either, but it is what my surgeon wanted me on so I got these sugar and caffeine free coffee powders (chia, mocha, white chocolate) and I put in a spoonful or so and added a handful of ice cubes and blended it...it made it better for me, but I also added a little milk  For me the EAS was one of the better tasting drinks....good luck

I am not a milk drinker either, but i use 1% milk it's just like water... use lots of ice and blend it really good... and wait about 5-min until things settle then get a straw and drink it fast... that helped me because i dont like the after taste from milk

I use body fortress vanilla whey Protein Powder, 1% milk, 1 tbsp Peanut Butter and 2 tsps of sugar free Jello chocolate pudding mix, ice and blend. The pudding mixes become your best friend.

Or take the vanilla Protein powder and mix it with light oj for an orange julius.

Oh that's what I had pre op. One for Breakfast one for lunch and chicken or fish with a non starchy vegetable for dinner.

Lost 30lbs.

But pre op will be over quick enough so stick with doc's plan! Good luck.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
