can anyone recommend a Vitamin that will not get stuck. They are so big. i was banded on 2/23 and am having a hard time keeping Vitamins down. They get stuck and make me vomit yellow saliva..

Also, I can't get the required 60 to 80 grams of Protein in a day with food alone and am so sick of Protein shakes.. does anyone know if they make a pill or vitamin form of protein?

I know this is why i probably feel tired all the time, I keep trying but I can not eat that many grams of protein per day.

Most pharmacy's sell Vitamins in liquid form, this should solve your dilemma.

My doctor suggested Bariatric Advantage since these have more Vitamins specific to banding needs. BA actually has one called VitaBand. I don't like to mess with the Protein Shakes, etc. so I ordered Liquid Protein shots from Physical Addictions.com (IDS New Whey liquid protein). They are larger than they appear but it is 42g of Protein. I drink 1 per day, about 2 gulps at two different times in the day. Despite reading reviews that say the Protein Shots taste like kool-aid, it's not the case. They are gross! I just hold my breath and then take a quick drink of flavored water. I know I can get the rest of my protein needs from food.< /p>

Centrum Adult Chewables-Orange Flavor...they taste like crap but they do go down easily and have a full day's worth of your needed Vitamin intake.

I have the same ones - Cherry flavor....actually tastes pretty good.

The very best tasting Vitamins I have EVER found are those by a company called Bariatric Building Blocks. They make several kinds, but the ones I like are the chewables, a few different flavors. I swear, they are like candy. I actually look forward to taking them.

yummmm!

I use Solaray Vitamins. They are a powder in a gel capsule. The capsule starts to dissolve as soon as it makes contact with any liquids. I am guessing that they would be completely dissolved in less than a minute after you swallow them..

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
