vicki jo 0 Posted July 9, 2009 I know that I was embarrassed to start off with to tell others about my plans to have lapband because I was so judgmental and jealous of others who could not only afford this surgery but appeared to be cheats in the weight loss world and only because I would work so hard to lose weight and get no where. Well not only was I wrong in judging these people but when I found out that I had sleep apnea and an under active thyroid to add to all my weight loss woes I realised that this surgery is a life saver for all of us and decided that I would let everyone that showed an interest in me know about my new journey and be proud of it because really it is just a tool to help us succeed and that is entirely up to us. But more importantly I know that others will think the same of me that I previously thought of others and that is something I can live with because of what I have learnt. And I can defend and explain what this journey and how hard it really is to any doubting thomas. You will make the right choice as to who you want to know and you will succeed and shine doing it!
