First, are you eating solid food that will stay in your pouch longer than the mushies or liquids and are you making sure you are not drinking with meals? If so, then my doctor tells me that if I am getting hungry between meals, then it is time for a fill...even a tiny fill might put you back on track.

Choopie:

You might just be having a plateau. Or, is it possible that you're building muscle from your workouts? Muscle weighs more than fat, so it could be masking your weight loss. When I would hit plateaus and have the proper fill I would try to change my foods and that can usually help me get off of a plateau. It's not unusual for the weight loss to slow way down as you get closer to goal.

Best wishes to you and your band.

I love my band!

Sue

I agree with all the above posters, but keep in mind that for every 10 pounds you lose, you need 150 fewer calories to maintain that weight. So you lost 70 lbs. which means you now need 1050 fewer calories to maintain your current weight than you did your former weight. And we all know the math to lose a pound. Good luck, you're doing great.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
