I'm in Union County, but was also banded in Oct 2008 and I know what you mean about staying on track.

Went for a fill this morning and they said that my pouch was just starting to stretch so I have to get back to measuring my food and watching the drinking before I really stretch it.

Where in Bergen County are you?

Hi Im from Passaic County. I haven't gotten the band yet. I'm approved by the insurance company and all just really scared and not sure whats best for me. I could use some people to talk to I'm willing to help you through.

It is absolutely worth it. Definately changed my life. I'm not always on this site like I should be but I do find it helpful. My band has taught me that food is really not that important. I still eat everything except beef and bread. Just have to make sure you eat slowly or you will have nasty consequences. Reach out anytime you like. My email is JER33N3@yahoo.com

Hi,

Band-er to be in Northern NJ wondering which Dr. you went with and if you were pleased with his or her staff?

I am leaning toward Dr. Davis in Ridgewood, but would welcome any input.

Thanks!

I used Dr. Nusbaum in Livingston. He and his staff to say the least are wonderful. His number is 973-322-7977.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
