Productive Burp(ing). producing nothing, maybe some Slime. It is like trying to burp from deep down under a ton of food.If you cant get the PB, next ot come will be the sliming. SLow down, take your time. You will hear this over and over. I am 16 months out and still experience these if I am not careful, I have to pay attention to my eating and not Gab at the same time..

Carbgrl, I was banded on 4/21/09 and had my first PB last night also, it was awful, I ate some fish no problem, then stupid me later I wanted something crunchy so I ate about 10 Reduced Fat cheese Nips chewed them really good, and then they got stuck and before I thought about it I took a big swig of my Water and I new immediately what was going to happen and it did! It was awful and it was just like everyone described. I guess it was my own fault though. I had my first fill this past Monday and she put 5 cc's in my 10cc band and so I've been really tight and I should've known better but you know live and learn

You may have to stay away from chicken for awhile and then try again later, hope you do okay

I had my first sliming and PB episode yesterday with chicken breast. I guess it was to dry or I ate to much. YUCK!!!!

I think chicken breast has gotten us all at least once. I'll confess to twice.

I got my band on 3/9/09 the loss has be steady and got it up to about 43lbs. as of the last of the month; the first time I have been under 200lbs. in about 15 yrs. I now find that things are changing. Foods that I ate the week before cause me to PB or I can have something for lunch but can't keep it down at dinner.< /p>

I was banded early april and until I had my second fill a week ago, I was also "sliming" and pbing all the time. I have since learnt that if I slow down when eating and take much smaller bites I dont do it as much now, I was also suffering from vomiting after the "sliming". I think its all about "learning" your band, whats comfortable, what you can and cant eat (me for example cant eat bread and have given up trying). Ive made a list of all the things that dont agree with me or my band. I also have trouble with chicken not as much now but i do have to be careful.

You have to remember that this is a new lifestyle and all the things we used to eat before, we may have to be carefull with now.

Slow down and enjoy your food, that helps me.... good luck!!

Ally.

Can anyone explain to me why I've gotten "stuck" on lunch meat twice but I can eat beef Jerkey without any problems? Can't be that I'm too tight or the meat being too dry....just seems kind of weird?!?!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
