Blaze21 5 Posted June 3, 2009 I bought this the other day and finally tried it today. What a workout! I was sweating from start to finish. It has a built in personal trainer who guides you through each exercise. There are about 25 exercises. It's really cool. I started the 30 day challenge and actually completed the first day without stopping.
aclubb 0 Posted June 3, 2009 I have been looking at getting that game - is it mostly cardio stuff or is it toning/strengthening exercises?
Blaze21 5 Posted June 3, 2009 It does cardio and strength training exercises. It comes with a leg strap and resistance band for some of the exercises.
emtsusieq 0 Posted June 8, 2009 i have this game too. now i am new at starting to exercise regular but i am a active person. this game kicks butt, i started sweating after the first couple of activities. and if you are doing them wrong it will let you know... I have wii fit too and must say it is not a challenge. the wii active is so much better. and cheaper then the wii fit was.
RaceGirl88 0 Posted June 12, 2009 I have been wanting to get this because i grew bored with Wii Fit..but I am concerned the leg strap may not be large enough?! I am 5'8" and wear a size 22...i have NO idea what my thigh measurement would be, or where to even measure. LOL
Blaze21 5 Posted June 12, 2009 The leg strap comes with an extension, so you should have no problem fitting your leg into it.
RaceGirl88 0 Posted June 18, 2009 Got the EA Active...leg strap was too tight...it would fit initially but as soon as I began running, squatting etc it would pop off. I used the "extension" (which i found it comical that its intent is to shorten the band, not lengthen it!) but still too small. I guess i will need to go find some industrial strength velcro and see what i can rig up...but i have now added to my list of goals that are "non scale victories" ..... leg strap that fits without extender...and STAYS on.:sneaky:
Bobbie155 0 Posted June 18, 2009 The only thing I don't like about the Wii Active is that the band is way to week for me. I had to go to Walmart and buy a stronger one. Other than that I love it!
Blaze21 5 Posted June 19, 2009 I agree with Bobbie515, the stretchy band is a little weak. I ordered a heavier resistance band to use with it.
agentcmc13 0 Posted June 20, 2009 well it seems you are all happy with the exercise you are getting from this game. I am actually looking into getting the wii system and some games so i have an indoor type of exercise that i enjoy (I just moved from florida to Michigan--so i know in the winter i need indoor activities) any other suggestions of other games to buy or if you think the wii is worth it?? Blaze21 5 Posted June 20, 2009 (edited) The wii is cool. A lot of people like the dance dance revolution game, and my fitness coach. I don't have a lot of games for the wii so maybe others can recommend something. Also, the wii comes with wii sports, which has tennis, bowling, boxing and other games. sxevan9 0 Posted June 21, 2009 I ordered the EA Sports Active last week and can't wait for it to arrive. I've been losing slowly and know when I had some work outs to my routine it will help kick start me... I will post as soon as it arrives.
luvinke 0 Posted June 23, 2009 I have the Wii fit system and have not been using it at all so as of today I am dedicating at least 30 to 45 minutes of my time to working out on it. If this goes well then I will give the EA Sports Active Personal Trainer a shot. This will not stop me from pricing this particular game.
Blaze21 5 Posted June 23, 2009 The active goes for 59.99+ tax. I paid under 60 for it with tax from bjs wholesale club
Who'sThere 331 Posted June 24, 2009 I got this today at Sam's Club for $55.68 plus tax. I haven't used it yet, but I have watched DH try it out. (I've been doing graduate research which is due 4 days after my surgery.) He has really worked up a sweat. Also, he bought Punch-Out (a boxing game) and really got a good work-out from that too. The leg strap was too small for him too, so he put it on his calf. It didn't work perfectly, but it was better than nothing.
