Had My First Fill today! How was everyones experience with 1st fill!

Recommended Posts

I was banded on April 8th, and the first few weeks were ok, felt restriction and lost a total of 20 lbs. After the first few weeks I felt No restriction at all, and have felt like I was more hungry then before the surgery!!!

Today I went back to my doc and they give me my first fill. I believe I was at 6cc and they added 1 cc. I was just wondering how everyones first experience was with there fill, how long after were you able to eat regular foods again, did it help with restriction, any advice will help! I dont feel too much of a difference, does it take time to feel it??? Thanks

i had the same experience as you. It took about three times to get the band to the point that it gave me really good restriction.

Very similar experience here. Took three fills to get to where I am now - went in for the 4th and decided to go another 6 weeks without adding any.

Good luck! I am a twinmamma too!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
