i live in columbus georgia and got to atlanta to Dr.finley for my fills. My free ones are over and i just found out his charge is $300.00 and i have to pay $195.00 for the fluoro scope.

I cant afford that.i need to find me a cheaper Doctor do take over my care and do my fills. Are their many doctors that will work behind another doctor and take his patient.

I cant afford to spend $495.00 every time i get a fill:cursing:

Wow, that is really rough, I'm sorry to hear that.

I am thankful of the approach my surgeon takes - at the time of surgery he charges $4000 above the scheduled fee ($16,000 instead of $12,000) BUT he never charges you another cent for any follow up care; consults, fills, re-operation (although there will obviously be hospital/anethetist fees if this occurs, but he wont charge for his services).

It is comforting for me to know that I will not have to worry about funding this on an ongoing basis, with the exception of always maintaining my health care insurance.

I found out about the costs of the fills while I was getting the details for my self-pay for this procedure.

The fills that aren't covered by the surgery cost are $75.00

It breaks down like this:

One-year's worth of fills free, regardless of how many, 3 fills the 2nd year free, and 1 the 3rd year free. Any outside of that schedule are $75. So, for example, if I get 4 in year 2, 3 are free and one is $75.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
