You don't seriously think that your average do you?

Heck, I would say, and yes this my opinion, that the average bandster doesn't even do the 30 minutes per day.

The average bandster is not doing Marathons.

For the average person, it is adjustable, but the only goal is to get to the sweet spot. Not to change the amount that they can eat to work out. That is just simply not realistic. Yes, this is my opinion.

I can agree with you though. Yes it is adjustable if it gets screwed up, but to call something that gets screwed up as a positive.

So yes, if you don't do what your suppose to do, you can get a complete unfill and wait to get the pouch back to normal.

I find this argument laughable.

WOW, it is adjustable.....LOL

I think it's more of a reassurance that IF things go south...which we should never plan on happening...but still...with a lot of people, it's just human nature to feel comfortable that there are options. Many obese people have had a lifetime of disappointments when it comes to weightloss. I think we all hope whatever surgery we choose will be a complete success and a life changing (for the better) experience. I also see how one must take the band seriously and be of the mindset that every effort will be made to follow your plan and stay on it so the problem never arises. To me anyway, there is truth to both sides.

And in reference to the subject of this post about sleeve or band...I didn't know any insurance in the US covered the sleeve at this time. I thought it was still considered experimental. It isn't covered with my insurance (Anthem) for that reason. I bet it will be soon though if there are good results.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
