Just thought we should put out a poll and note to everyone to see how we are all doing . . . 18 months . . . who can believe that??? What are you doing now . . . we've obviously all moved on with our lives . . . doing new things or things we never thought we could ever do again . . . let us know!

Guess I messed up the poll . . . it isn't showing names this time . . . bummer . . . but still fun!

I'm walking a 3Day Breast Cancer Walk in Seattle in September . . . if my hips hold out (dang osteoarthritis!). I feel better . . . I keep moving . . . I hiked all over Yosemite without losing breath . . . I'm loving it all!

Hugs and warm wishes to everyone! Hope someone reads this lol!

Great work! I can't believe you're doing the 3 Day. Would you have imagined that possible a few years ago?!

I started running out of desperation to make the scale move again. I found a program online that had intervals of walking and some running that really worked! I had my first 5K in May and--though I swore I'd never do it again, I am signed up for another in 2 weeks. I didn't like the time for my first one, but am so happy to have finished it. I'll be running another one on June 20th, but this time in honor of a close friend who passed of ALS a few years ago. There will be 15 of us running this one. I'm not sure how this will be with the summer weather coming, but hoping to do a little better this time. (The other struggle is not being able to eat Breakfast with all of the races being in the morning! Any suggestions OTHER than Protein shakes?!)

Hope you're all well and would love to hear of your progress! Paige

Well I am so close to my goal I can taste it but am stuck at my recent weight. I hate to go back in for another fill because I am so tight right now but I would really love to see the scale move. I think part of me has lost my mojo, meaning I am happy where I am. I really wish I could have the same motivation as I had in the beginning. I lose a few then I gain it back it is bery frustrating. I love my band however and I will do it!!

Oh, Jaymie---I know how frustrating it is, but don't get over filled!!! I was overfilled for 4 days and thought I was going to die. I couldn't sleep at night because of the reflux. I was so miserable....try going back to the basics for a few days and see if that helps. I've been about 30 pounds from goal for over 5-6 months now. I am really frustrated, but know that eventually, the weight will come off........

Keep up the good work! :wink2: Paige

Oh I had the reflux and unfill too because of being to tight! NO FUN! I had 1 cc taken out . . . to be left with 0.75 in my 10 cc band . . . omg some people have 7, 8 or 9 . . . not me . . . oh well . . .I keep plugging away!

Hello, Merry Losers!

I just got a fill the other day-last one was 6 months ago - and feel like I just had surgery!! liquids and mushies and counting protein....last 10 lbs need to come off. I was beginning to "diet" again and remembered I had this great tool, so went to get the fill. Woo Hoo, it works when you keep up the fills.

Wt. loss has been slow, but that is ok. I actually have not gained any weight back, which was my goal for having the band. I could lose weight before the band, but always gained it right back. The band keeps it off!!

I love it....clothes shopping is fun. I am in a size 12-14, which at age 56 and height of 5'8" looks just fine, thank you very much. Hope "all y'all" are enjoying your band!:)

Hi ladies, its been months since I last checked in. I have no new changes to report. I lost my mojo 6 months ago. no exercise, no self control. I wished I never got my unfill back in Dec. I been back to the doc. and cant find my sweet spot. I am so frustrated with myself and have lost all my motivation. and on top of that I gained close to 2o pds. does anyone have any suggestions ? I'm really considering by-pass

Oh Tink . .. hugs to you . . . I would suggest starting back at the basics . . . drink a couple Protein drinks a day . . . LOTS of Water . . . and a low carb small dinner . . . you CAN do this . . . Water aerobics? walking? exercise of some sort? Even the bypass needs work to be effective . . . you need to get your mind wrapped around it and go for it! YOU CAN DO THIS!

Keep us posted

Chris

Go talk to your Dr about it.

I had not lost in almost 8 months So I tried to start over again...it is hard. But I did it. I am slowly getting back on track. The band keeps you from OVER eatting...not from making bad food choices. I count the small victories...like I have not gained in the almost 2 years. Where normaly I would have gained 15 lbs a year or more. So I count that as a loss for me.

Start slow working out again. and reward yourself like you did in the beginning.

Good for you Cerrin! That is the beautiful thing about this band . .. you CAN start over . . .and you CAN use it to help you so much! Wahoo for you! Keep it up . . . and keep us posted. One step at a time . . . you're right . . . it helps but does not chose what to eat . . . our minds still have to do that.

Hugs

Chris

Thanks Chris.

I am a bit disapointed in myself at times because I havent lost more...but I have to stop myself and look at what I have done FOR myself.

I did this for a reason. I CHOSE this over gastric Bypass because I didnt like the super fast loss of gastric bypass. Slower is healthy to me. So I just have to keep those things in my head.

GOOOOOOOOOAAAALLL!!!!!

18 MONTHS AND 14 DAYS LATER I FINALLY REACHED MY initial GOAL... 85 lbs lost

Started at 221 and today the scale showed 136:thumbup:

I'M NO LONGER MORBIDLY OBESE, OBESE OR EVEN OVERWEIGHT. I HAVE A "NORMAL" BMI AND I'M AN "AVERAGE" WEIGHT FOR MY AGE AND HEIGHT. (which is old and short)

I want to lose another 10 lbs. but I'm in no rush. It's the journey, not the destination.

I run/jog/walk 6 miles, 6 days a week. I'm only taking 1 Rx a day (compared to 8) before the band. Life is good:lol: I can't imagine where I'd be without this gift. Love and Luck to all the Merry Losers.

Saw my PCP & officially started my 6 month supervised diet 07/26/24. She just told me to eat less carbs & sugar, use the air fryer and not fry my foods in grease, and to try to walk 30 minutes 3 days a week & if I can't do that (and I cannot), to walk 10 minutes daily. Told me to walk fast enough that my heart rate is raised.  She didn't give me a number as far as calories though. A year or so ago I was doing low carb/sugar free and keeping my calories at 1800 or below. She said I should up my cals to 2000 at that time, so that's what I'm shooting for now.
Hubby walked with me today. He's in pretty bad shape so I was surprised he wanted to. We walked down the gravel road at a pretty good pace (for us LOL). 10 minutes walking and my heart rate was 115bps according to my Fitbit and 125bps according to his pulsometer. Either way, it was elevated and I was breathing hard. Doesn't sound like a lot, but it's a start. We'll do it again tomorrow. 😁
I should be hearing from the surgeon soon. She said if I didn't, to call him next week. Since I HAVE to do the 6 month diet & that's going to put me into January by the time it's done, I'm hoping the surgeon will let me do all my testing in January. I don't want to do it all now and have my deductible get met, only to have to pay the deductible again in January or February for my surgery. Praying that things go the way I hope. 🙏

Factors Affecting the Growth of the Alternative Sweeteners Industry:
Health Consciousness: The increasing awareness among individuals about the health issues linked to high sugar consumption, such as obesity, diabetes, and cardiovascular diseases, is supporting the market growth. Consumers are becoming more health-conscious and seeking products that can provide sweetness without the negative health effects associated with sugar. This shift in consumer preferences is leading to a greater demand for low-calorie and natural sweeteners like stevia, monk fruit, and erythritol. These sweeteners offer the added benefit of having minimal impact on blood glucose levels, making them suitable for diabetic and health-conscious individuals.
Technological Advancements: Innovations in the production and formulation of alternative sweeteners are impelling the market growth. Advancements in biotechnology and food science are leading to the development of high-intensity sweeteners with improved taste profiles and functional properties. Innovations in fermentation processes enhance the production efficiency and quality of natural sweeteners like stevia and monk fruit. These technological improvements are making alternative sweeteners more appealing to both manufacturers and consumers. Enhanced stability, solubility, and sweetness intensity allow these sweeteners to be used in a wide range of products, ranging from beverages to baked goods.

Besides this, there is an increase in the demand for low-calorie and sugar-free alternatives that support weight management and overall wellness.
