Hey!

I have had the gall bladder thingy happen to me (I am not yet banded), so I can understand that you feel really bad. But, you did not bring that on yourself. It is temporary. Once you get healed and feel better, you can get back on the band wagon and get started on the weight loss again. Do not accept these things as defeats! You want to stay around for a long time, so look at this as a journey for the rest of your life. Not a quick sprint to the end, but a beautiful long journey. This is just a very short stop. Be positive in this and before you realize it, you will have forgotten all about the gall bladder and will be amazed at how well you feel and look!

Ms. Candace, Hang in there. Talk to your doctor about your fatigue, you may need to have some labs drawn. As far as feeling tired, I'm 3 months out and get tired easily. Our bodies are trying to adjust to lower calories etc. Make sure you make a concerted effort to get all of your needed Protein in daily so you don't get behind. The lack of protein can definitely influence your energy level. Do the best you can with the walking until your energy gets back...Hang in there, it's hard now but won't always be that way..You are doing great!!!

I just figured out yesterday I was having this issue ... I called my surgeon's office after being discharged from the ER and they helpfully offered to remove it.

I guess gallbladder issues often occur after weight loss like this and I'm just so tired today. Sigh. I look forward to having it removed so I can get back to "normal."

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
