3 pound weight loss

Recommended Posts

Since I was banded, from my bust, waist and hips, 14 inches total. This doesn't take into count the inches loss from anywhere else.

I'm just obsessed with trying to figure out why I"m not losing weight. I'm obsessed with the fact that I've only lost 3 pounds.

Some said that I was on a plateau, and that sometimes it take a while for these things to break. Well, that would be well and true, except for the literal Water weight I lost, I've only lsot 3 pounds this so hardly qualifies as a plateau. A plateau implies that there was something lost in the begining.

Maybe I need professional help.

Vines you are doing great and it doesn't take a scale to show it. You are losing inches your buiding muscle and your clothes are smaller and you feel better and thats what counts!!! Continue on this path and you will continue to do great!! Never get discouraged.... throw out the scale!!! Your awsome and such an inspiration to all of us!!

Have you had any bloodwork done recently? Has anyone checked out your thyroid? While it wont cause a TON of weight gain, it will cause some, and I can see how that could easily translate into difficult weight loss, you know?

Anyway, just something to consider.

Vines,

Don't be so hard on yourself. "This too shall pass" You are doing great, Stop beating yourself up. Are you eating enough? Are you drinking your Water? Are you exercising? If your answers to the above are all yes, Keep up the good work ! And be patient. I don't know if you snack, Being a gastric bypass patient, I am supposed to. They told us that if we didn't eat like we were supposed to, we would not be fueling the fire! And we all need to fuel the fire for our losses.

Take care, and stay positive..........Remember all you have accomplished so far.

Thanks Wendy. It's just really hard. I know I shouldn't compare my journey with anyone else, but I'm human. I'm competative. I compare.

I think it would probably be easier if I had some answers why I"m not losing weight. According to all the literature, I should be losing weight. According to Fitday, I should be loosing weight. According to two other sites and a third weight loss tracking package, I should be losing weigh. According to the nutishionist, I should be losing weight.

I think part of the problem is that it just doesn't make sense. It's not rational.

I snack, but not very often.

my thoid is low, but considered normal. My doc won't even consider doing anything about it.

I think you need to go to a doc who will. My levels are low--but within the "Normal" low range. My doctor said symptoms also count (metabolism shut down, listless, easily cold, dry skin, hairloss) and put me on some thyroid med to see if it would help. I think it has--not in any drastic way, but every little bit helps. It doesn't hurt to TRY something!

I think you've been more than patient. It's time to get more aggressive about some help from your doctor. I'm about to start tearing my hair out FOR you (& it just finally began growing back!).

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
